After careful and prayerful consultation with Catholics throughout the sixty-nine counties of our Archdiocese, Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory announced his vision of the Pastoral Plan to guide our Archdiocese over the next five years. The plan outlines the 14 priorities in four major themes chosen as most critical by the laity, priests, religious and deacons of our Catholic community. We encourage you to read the plan and find how it involves you. All Catholics are invited to attend the weekly Monday Mass at the Atlanta VA Medical Center, 1670 Clairmont Road, Decatur. Mass begins at 11:30amMany of our Catholic veterans do not have family or visitors and look to the church for pastoral care. This weekly Mass is celebrated for the wellbeing and spiritual support of veterans from all branches. Would you or someone you know like to volunteer in the flower shop at Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital? We have 4-hour shifts available mornings and afternoons. We always work in teams so it’s easy to learn on the job. If you have some experience and an interest in creating flower arranging for our gift shop, please consider joining us! Mass of Healing for Anyone Impacted by Addiction for all those struggling with any addiction, as well as anyone who is impacted by the addiction of someone else. Although memory care cafés have existed in the UK for many years, this concept is fairly new in the US
. On March, 5, 2016, Amy’s Place opened in Roswell, GA, with the mission of providing respite and support services to caregivers who selflessly serve those affected with dementia and related disorders. Amy’s Place provides an opportunity for the family caregiver and their loved one with dementia to socialize, learn and connect with those who share in the journey of caring for someone with dementia. Supporting caregivers can be a family member, friend or hired assistant. Amy’s Place also aims to reduce the stigma often associated with dementia, by offering educational events to the community. Volunteers needed! St Vincent de Paul Chamblee Thrift Store desperately needs volunteers to work from 2-6pm Monday-Saturday. Typical tasks might include: cashier, sorting donations, tagging merchandise, hanging clothing, stocking shelves and racks, and straightening the sales floor.
